Trump Pardons 175LBS Marijuana Trafficker

Credit:  Marijuana Moment Article

Trump pardoned more than one person today from my understanding, but the person here, quoted in the article is a former NFL player named, Nathaniel Newton Jr.  He was convicted of trafficking 175 pounds of marijuana after being found with $10,000 and marijuana during a vehicle stop.

This is more very good news for the cannabis space.  This shows the willingness to work with folks who are convicted of cannabis violations.  The fact that it was a trafficking pardon shows even more and honestly, changes my stance on my previous article where I stated I don't think we will see legalization with this administration.  This is not me saying he will do it for sure, but it sure does tell me, at least that his views may be changing.  He may be more open to it than he's eluded to in the past.

It would be a reach to say that the fact we haven't heard anything about Schedule 3 other than the FDA commissioner the other day... That this means they are trying for legalization.  I do think that's a possibility, and instead of just rescheduling, perhaps they are going for a legalization aspect to it on the side.  At the end of the day, the Republicans winning cannabis would be a huge W for their party, and I do think President Trump is cognizant of this.

I'm not saying I think they will legalize with the rescheduling announcement when if/when it is finalized.  I'm saying this indicates that it could be a very small possibility, but I'm not holding my breath, whatsoever.

I have to say, another W for President Trump in my books with this pardon.

As always, I'm not a democrat or republican.  I'm an indepenent looking at both sides.
